The Latest Technology
CHATTANOOGA INTERFERENTIAL ELECTRICAL MUSCLE STIMULATION & ULTRA SOUND
Electrical Muscle Stimulation is used as an effective form of pain relief. It is recommended in cases in which pain is accompanied by swelling, inflammation and muscle spasticity.
Small amounts of electrical current are induced into affected soft tissues to decrease spasticity and reduce swelling. This widely used technique safely strengthens muscles and helps reduce painful symptoms.
Patient Benefits:
-
Reduces pain sensation
-
Decreases swelling
-
Promotes general muscle tone
-
Speeds the healing process
SURFACE ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG)
All three methods are analyzed by computer and are painless, safe, and use no radiation. Together, SEMG and Thermography and Inclinometry can indicate specific levels of subluxation. In addition, this tool helps to:
* DETECT AREA OF NERVE DISTURBANCE
* DOCUMENT AND MONITOR YOUR RESULTS
* DELIVER THE APPROPRIATE CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Our purpose for administering these tests is to detect and pinpoint abnormal function in the spine which cannot be seen on X-ray. Abnormal spinal function causes abnormal Nervous System disturbance. The three standard test will measure:
1. Surface Electromyography (SEMG) is a device for measuring extremely small amounts of electricity generated by the muscles just below the skin. This is a reliable and accurate way to measure muscle tension due to nerve interference.
2. Thermography records heat differences on either side of the spine, indicating and quantifying areas of increased or decreased nerve activity.
INTERSEGMENTAL TRACTION
Intersegmental traction applied to the spine has been a part of chiropractic for many years. Its benefits include mobilization of the spinal motor units, stimulation of vascular and lymphatic circulation, relieving pressure from inflamed and irritated nerves, relaxation of paraspinal muscles, and relief of fixations and restoration of resilience to discs and other connective tissue.
DIGITAL X-RAYS
We utilize the latest in digital X-Ray technology, providing instantaneous viewing of x-rays and quicker diagnosis. We are now able to either copy your x-ray images to CD or transfer x-ray images digitally to other facilities.
